Elena Abad Martinez
Born in 1992, Elena began her violin studies at age 7 with Professor Ara Vartanian, giving her first concert at the age of 8. Since she was 9 she has been part of different orchestras. In 2001 she joined the Orchestra of Young Soloists of Malaga offering with the same concerts as soloist of authors such as Vivaldi, Bach, Komarovsky and Accolay. Later she toured Japan and on her return she attended the International Music Course of Solsona where she received classes from the Russian violinist Evgey Grach (leader of the London Sypmphony Orchestra) which suggested she move to London to perfect her studies. That is why, after passing the corresponding entrance exam she studied first at the Purcell School of Music and then at the Guidhall School of Music & Dramma in which she is about to finish her higher studies of violin. In London she has offered several concerts in prestigious auditoriums such as Queen Elizabeth Hall, Barbical Hall and St. Martin in the Fields.
In the field of chamber music, she was twice selected to perform the Tchaikovsky Trio and the Arensky Piano Quintet with her group at Wigmore Hall in London.
As a soloist, she has recently performed Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5, Solch de Bruch Concerto No. 1 and the Mendelssohn Concerto, with the Harrow Symphony Orchestra and the Toprbay Simphony Orchestra.
Among the prizes received, the First Interpretation Prize of the then Conservatory of Fuengirola (2001 and 2006), First Prize of the XII Queen Angeles Contest (2002), First Prize of the 5th Andalusian Music Competition "Muñoz Molleda" (2004), etc., stands out.
She is currently finishing her studies at the Guidhall School of Music and Drama with Professor Ofer Falk.
